Hong Kong Baptist University has been awarded funding in relation to the Job Creation Scheme under Anti-epidemic Fund 2.0 of the Government to create employment opportunities. The Office invites applications for the following positions to support two programmes:

Executive Officer (2 vacancies) (PR0146/20-21)

1. Research development in the Guangdong-HK-Macau Greater Bay Area

The Office is looking for a dynamic and meticulous candidate to help expanding the University's research development in the Greater Bay Area. The core duties of the successful candidate include:

  • initiating, planning, coordinating and implementing activities in relation to the administration of Mainland research grants/projects;
  • liaising with academics and research personnel;
  • assisting in the organisation of research related events/activities;
  • conducting continuous review on the appropriateness and timeliness of procedures, guidelines and policies;
  • providing administrative support to the daily operation of a Mainland office;
  • compiling statistics and relevant reports; and
  • performing ad hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors.

2. Integrated Research Information Management System (IRIMS)

IRIMS is a new development to manage and record research activities and scholarly profiles, as well as to facilitate the formulation and evaluation of data-driven strategies. The successful candidate will:

  • work with other offices/departments to develop the university-wide IRIMS;
  • take charge of the IRIMS project for the Office, in terms of project management, research system and processes;
  • provide technical support for the implementation of the IRIMS, including ongoing system maintenance, development and enhancement;
  • handle users’ inquiries, suggestions, complaints and work with the vendor for solutions;
  • assist in all UATs organised by the vendor;
  • prepare user guides and offer training for the University community;
  • support other projects/developments of the Office;
  • provide support in committee work;
  • provide administrative and technical support for the Office and promote research related events/activities; and
  • carry out ad hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors.

As stipulated by the Government, applicants should be Hong Kong permanent residents. They should possess a recognized relevant Bachelor’s degree with good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and reasonable proficiency in English and Putonghua. Applicants for post (1) above should have at least 5 years of relevant experience. Applicants for post (2) above should have at least 4 years of relevant experience, with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or related disciplines.

The Office may appoint candidates to positions different from what they have applied for to suit its operational needs.

Appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year.
