Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture (IBA)

The Institute is established under the Faculty of Science. It serves as a knowledge hub that engages in bioresource conservation and sustainable agriculture. It also promotes and offers professional and public education in sustainable consumption, bioresource and organic agriculture. The Institute is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy: 

Senior Project Assistant (PR0227/20-21)                                                                 

The appointee is expected to assist the Centre Executive/Project Co-ordinator in the execution of educational activities and the operation of its Learning Centre. He/She will monitor the overall operation of education programmes/workshops, prepare workshop materials for promoting organic agriculture and sustainable living style, and supervise part-time staff who act as tour guides in the Learning Centre. He/She will also provide daily administrative support in equipment maintenance, security service, reception counter and enquiries handling. Working on shift hours, weekends and public holidays is required.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Biology, Environmental Science or related disciplines with three years of relevant experience. Experience in office administration will be an advantage. Good communication in both spoken and written English and Chinese, and good computer skills including MS Office and Chinese word-processing are required.

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
