The Department invites job applications under the project “Development and evaluation of the effectiveness of an online cognitive behavioral intervention program for Hong Kong people with social anxiety disorder”. The project has a dual emphasis on programme development and a study to evaluate its effectiveness.
Research Fellow (PR0347/19-20)
The appointee will provide support to the Project Coordinator. Duties include:
(a) Assisting in preparation of programme materials;
(b) Promoting the project;
(c) Recruiting participants;
(d) Collecting and analysing data;
(e) Writing up papers;
(f) Arranging meetings for the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators;
(g) Coordinating the video-production work; and
(h) Performing other administrative and logistic work as assigned.
Applicants should (i) hold at least a Master’s degree (a PhD degree would be advantageous) in social sciences (in particular social work, counseling, psychology, or psychiatric nursing); (ii) have knowledge or training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) preferred; (iii) possess substantial relevant research experience and publication records; (iv) be proficient in writing and communication skills in both Chinese and English; and (v) be innovative and proactive in the team.

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
