Assistant Officer (Project Management) (PR0327/19-20)

The appointee will join a team of professionals under the Project Management and Development Planning Section to carry out project management and space planning duties for the implementation of the University’s capital projects and addition and alteration projects.


  • Support the Assistant Director and the Senior Manager to carry project management duties, including liaison with government departments, and coordination and supervision of consultants, contractors and suppliers for execution of capital and non-capital works contracts for the University;
  • Carry out space planning and feasibility studies for developments or alterations;
  • Liaise with end-user departments to understand their spatial needs for project delivery; and
  • Take part in design presentation preparation including drawings, rendering and data visualization, as well as in the production of working drawing, specifications, tender documents and other project-control documents for in-house campus projects.


  • Possess a recognised degree in Architecture/Engineering/Surveying/Building Studies or related disciplines with at least three years of relevant experience;
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese and proficiency in computer applications, including AutoCAD and Photoshop, with Revit being an advantage; and
  • Creative, pleasant, service-orientated, responsible, self-motivated, able to work collaboratively and independently.

Applicants with less experience/qualification or year-out intern of architectural course with demonstrably strong aptitude may also be considered for appointment.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written/drawing-skill test.

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
