Technical Officer (PR0273/19-20)
The appointee will
(i) provide technical support to the Language Centre and HKBU Putonghua Training and Testing Centre;
(ii) develop and manage web applications and databases;
(iii) conduct testing and bug fixing on web applications;
(iv) design websites, posters, banners and book covers;
(v) provide technical support to classes, functions and activities;
(vi) provide internal training to staff; and
(vii) perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors and the Head of the Language Centre.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies or a relevant subject with at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience. Expertise in PHP, Wordpress, CSS3, HTML5, and relational databases including SQL Server is mandatory. They should have practical knowledge of website design (i.e. knowledge of Adobe Creative Web Suite) and experience in e-Learning platform (i.e. Moodle). A good command in Chinese and English is required.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a technical test and an interview.
Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Reference salary range: HK$26,000 - HK$43,000
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
