Assistant Officer (PR0205/19-20)

The General Education Office is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and detail-minded candidate with good language and interpersonal skills to fill the position of Assistant Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of General Education (GE) and the team leaders in the implementation of the GE Programme;
  • Provide administrative and logistic support for the GE courses and GE-related projects;
  • Assist in the organization and promotion of GE activities and events;
  • Provide frontline services to staff, students and external parties on a daily basis; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Requirements:

  • A recognized Bachelor’s degree, preferably with two years of experience in the tertiary education sector;
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Positive attitude in problem-solving, able to meet deadlines and good attention to details;
  • Good organizational skills, self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Able to work independently and in a team;
  • Proficiency in generic computer skills is a must, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); and
  • Knowledge of website content management, graphic design software and/or event organization will definitely be an advantage.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one or two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
