The School of Communication of HKBU is a leading school of communication, journalism, and film studies in the Asia-Pacific region. It comprises the Academy of Film, Department of Communication Studies and Department of Journalism, offering 20 programmes at sub-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate levels to circa 2,400 students. Academy of Film
Acting for Screen and Media - Professor of Practice / Associate Professor of Practice / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer (PR0103/19-20)
The Academy invites applications for full-time positions in its newly launched B.A. (Hons) in Global Acting. The appointees are expected to (i) teach undergraduate courses in screen acting, stage acting, performance arts and studies; (ii) direct, develop and supervise student acting projects; (iii) develop course content based on the latest industrial practices and production workflows; (iv) contribute to curriculum revision; (v) develop industrial outreach and international performance internships; and (vi) lead a number of co-curricular activities.
Potential candidates should:
hold a PhD or MFA or Master’s degree in acting and performance studies or a relevant field;
possess relevant professional, research and teaching experiences in one or more of the following areas: voice and speech, movement acting on stage, acting on screen and with technology, acting and directing, script analysis and acting;
have excellent command in English; and
preferably have notable and recognised professional credits or awards.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two to three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
