Our vision is engaged social science that inspires success in students and builds a better society. Continuing our investment in new talent, we now seek post-doctoral research fellows to support the development of the Faculty Niche Research Area in "Smart Societies".

Post-doctoral Research Fellow (Environmental and Urban Systems) (PR0206/18-19)  

The appointee is expected to initiate new research in one or more indicative theme areas outlined below. Duties include: (a) assisting in the preparation of collaborative grant proposals; (b) liaising with appropriate stakeholders and researchers globally; and (c) supporting research-related administrative duties. Applicants should possess a relevant doctoral degree with some research experience in the following theme areas or any related disciplines.

Environmental and Urban Systems: Environmental Health, Climate Change, Pollution and Environmental Impacts, Planetary Urbanisation, Heritage, and Smart Cities.

Well-being: Physiological and Psychological Health, Active Ageing and Cognitive Stimulation, Youth Active and Healthy Lifestyle Development, AI and Big Data for Health Research and Promotion.

Populations: Cross-border Studies, Family Studies, Social Policy, Migration, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Community Development, and Digital Divide).

Learning and Praxis: Education Science, Cognitive Science, Applications of Information and Communications Technology to Learning and Professional Practices, Data Analytics Applications, and e-Governance.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of six months commencing January 2019. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
