Temporary Project Assistant (4 months) (PR289/16-17)
The appointee will work on a project, which aims to create pathways for online English language materials, focusing on the academic needs of university students. The appointee is expected to (i) identify existing materials and categorize them; (ii) create the pathways for online English language materials which include structured study guides for online academic study; (iii) collect data on students' usage and level of attainment; and (iv) perform other duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in English Language, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, TESOL, Communication or a related field with a native or native-like proficiency in English, and Band 7.5 or above in the IELTS or 4 or above in the LPATE. Experience in the design of learning materials in English and the application of computers for language learning is essential. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate practical experience in materials development for a range of learning contexts including on-line contexts. They should have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and have the capacity to acquire information independently.
Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of four months commencing May 2017.
Reference salary range: HK$11,000 - HK$13,000
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
